The fiscal year that ended June 30 was the first in which the city of Jefferson and Greene County felt the impact of Wild Rose Jefferson in the revenue portion of their budgets.
Greene County treasurer Donna Lawson reported to the county supervisors on Monday that as of June 30, the county had received $133,329.89 from Wild Rose. That amount is one-half of 1 percent of the gross gaming revenue at the casino.
The city of Jefferson received the same amount.
The casino had a soft opening last July 13, and Lawson recorded payments from Wild Rose on July 27, July 30, and Aug. 7. The gala grand opening was held Aug. 7.
Wild Rose operated 50 weeks during FY 16. If gross gaming revenues remain steady, a full year of operation will yield about $138,500 for the city and the county in fiscal year ’17, the current year.
All towns and school districts in the county receive funding from Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, the qualifying organization that holds the gaming license for Wild Rose Jefferson. Other organizations receive gaming funds through a grant process.
